BOE Unveils Transparent Micro-LED Smart Window At CES 2026

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, BOE showcased its revolutionary transparent Micro-LED smart window, a breakthrough in glass deep processing that blends display technology with functional glazing. The innovation transforms ordinary vehicle or building glass into an ultra-bright 8K display while maintaining high transparency when not in use. With a brightness of up to 50,000 nits-50 times brighter than standard smartphone screens-it remains visible even in direct sunlight, solving a major pain point of traditional OLED glass. The technology uses micron-sized inorganic gallium nitride LEDs attached to a glass substrate, offering longer lifespan, no screen burn-in, and seamless integration with smart systems. BOE's HERO 2.0 smart cockpit demo paired the window with a domain controller, enabling synchronized dimming of windows, dashboards, and sunroofs, signaling a new era for automotive and architectural glass applications.
